Mailspring comes stock with a few beautiful themes, and there are many more which have been built by community developers. The Mailspring user interface is styled using CSS, which means it's easy to modify and extend. You can share and browse Mailspring Plugins, and discuss plugin development with other developers, on our
(Right now, users need to "sideload" the plugins into the app by downloading them and copying them into place.) To create your own plugin, check out the Mailspring-Plugin-Starter.Ī plugin "store" like the Chrome Web Store is coming soon, and will make it easy for other users to discover plugins you create. To create your own theme, check out the Mailspring-Theme-Starter. Follow the Getting Started guide to write your first plugin in five minutes. Building your own plugins allows you to integrate the app with other tools, experiment with new workflows, and more. Plugins lie at the heart of Mailspring and give it its powerful features. Our UI is entirely open-source and pull requests and contributions are welcome! There are a few ways to contribute: building a plugin, building a theme, improving translations, and submitting pull requests to the project itself.
Unstable releases are available on Travis. There's also an AUR package maintained by (thanks!).
#Mailspring .exe#
You can download compiled versions of Mailspring Libre build for Linux (deb and rpm), macOS (dmg and zip), and Windows (exe and msi) from GitHub Releases.
By downloading Mailspring Libre build, you accept the MailSync license (which doesn't affect you as a regular user). Please note that Mailspring Libre build isn't fully open source right now: the sync engine, MailSync, is proprietary, and while we're working on replacing it, it probably won't happen anytime soon. This Libre build comes with no telemetry at all, and is still filled with powerful features you will love, like Unified Inbox, Snooze, Send Later, Mail Rules, Templates and more! If you create a Mailspring ID and later decide you don't want one, you can sign in to the Mailspring ID dashboard ( ) at any time and permanently delete your account and all data associated with it.Mailspring is a email client that is fast, free and beautiful. If and when we create a mobile version of Mailspring, having snooze, send later, and read receipts metadata in the cloud will also be a necessity. Many of the features on the roadmap (like shared templates for teams and a "Chrome Web Store"-style UI for installing third-party plugins and themes), rely on or significantly benefit from us having lightweight user accounts.

#Mailspring upgrade#
If you upgrade to Mailspring Pro, you pro subscription is attached to your Mailspring ID and you can access Pro features on any computer signed in to your account. It syncs only the minimal amount of data required to power features like snooze, send later, etc., and uses a hashing mechanism to identify emails and associate it's metadata across installs. Mailspring does not store your email passwords in the cloud. For example, to snooze an email on your laptop and unsnooze it on your work computer, Mailspring needs to be able to store the date you've selected on it's own and sync it between your devices. Your Mailspring ID is separate from your email account(s) and you can use any email address or password you'd like.Ĭreating a Mailspring ID is necessary because existing email protocols like IMAP and SMTP do not provide a way to associate metadata with email messages.
